Black Lives Matter
Apple Wood and Burnt Spruce Burl
180mm x 230mm
$580
With worldwide systemic racism finally being fully exposed and centre staged, this is my analysis of how people of colour are trying to find a means of entering into the white world that surrounds them and securing a fair and positive future for generations that follow.

The spruce burl used in this piece endured a fierce and relentless forest fire and survived. Easily representing the endurance of people of colour. Likewise, the solid apple wood reflected the white world with its tripod stability. Eventually the persistent "roots" of the people of colour will bring about change. The spiralling centre shoot is the eventual celebration of their union.
